Air Line State Park Trail
Smith Street

The Air Line State Park Trail is the site of the former Air Line Railroad, built to connect Boston to New York City in the shortest route possible. In 1996, the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection proposed the rehabilitation of the rail bed as a multi-purpose trail and linear park. In a regional effort, the towns of East Hampton, Colchester, Hebron, and Lebanon have worked together to link and improve their sections of the trail. This is one of the most beautiful trails in all of Connecticut and suitable for all ability levels.
